We have snorkeled all over the world, this was some of worst snorkeling we have done. Really not much to see. The only reason there was any fish is they brought bread to feed them. They required everyone to have a life jacket on and stay in a pack. Not really snorkeling. Equipment was old school stuff, but with really not snorkeling, in the water for about 40 minutes total. We weren’t even on the boat until 2 hours after the time were to meet the guides. Staff were friendly, but could be a lot more entertaining. Did get to sail some though.

BEST EXPERIENCE! We had such an amazing time snorkeling in amber cove with the Tip Top crew. Benjamin (aka Scooby Doo), Papo and Maui made the trip even more memorable by being the best. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun excursion while visiting the island.

Would be nice if the staff, gave a small guide tour of building as we pass by on the catamaran. The staff were still delightful 🙂

I’ve had many snorkelling experiences in the DR and loved them all. This was by a wide margin the worst. We are staying in cabarete so this tour out of Sosua seemed like a great a quick in an out. The weather was overcast and visibility in the water was near zero at the three rock I saw not a single piece of coral when we got back to sousua bay they just dropped us off for a swim and pretended we were at the reef I dove to the bottom and came up saying there was nothing but sand and the guy admitted we’re just here for a swim “sorry we don’t control the weather” but you do know it will be a terrible experience don’t you? and you act like you had no idea. The Lunch was fried chicken. But there was clearly not enough the tour operator obviously cheating out. They limited the tiny pieces of chicken (maybe a bird cut into 11 or 13 pieces) to 1 per person then at the end the crew were taking 3 and 4 pieces each. I don’t blame them just the tour operator being greedy. To top it all off did they drop us off in Sosua bay? No the took us to the middle of nowhere past Puerto Plata 1:30min from our hotel. And did they at least sail the boat there? Nope, the whole way there under engine power.

Enjoyed the Catamaran food, and crew. However, was very disappointed that the snorkeling portion provided no fins and they had limited yellow life vests so I spent a majority of time pulling my organge life jacket down and trying to paddle against the winds as it what hard to enjoy it with no fins. We were on a carnival cruise excursion. Edit**** in response to my review. We were in fact NOT given fins. So I am not sure what happened then. Nobody on the boat had fins unless you brought own or you were a worker. We were on the ship Carnival Mardi Gras January 27. I can assure you we were NOT given fins.
